Marine climate control leader Dometic has introduced its new Magdry magnet-drive centrifugal seal-less pump. Unveiled today for the boating industry at the 2021 IBEX Show (International Boat Builder Exposition & Conference) in Tampa, Florida, this innovative pump was designed to improve both the performance and reliability of marine air conditioning systems.

Dometic pumps have two important marine applications. One is to pump seawater through a wide range of Dometic Marine air conditioning systems. The second is to pump tempered water throughout the vessel for Chilled Water systems.

Key to this new pump’s rugged design is the fact that it has no mechanical seals to wear out or compromise performance. Magnetic style pumps offer simple head removal for maintenance. A non-corrosive composite pump head and impeller are resilient to the damaging effects of seawater. These pumps also offer a Totally Enclosed, Fan Cooled (TEFC) pump motor to ensure robust performance in challenging conditions, along with very low maintenance.

In addition, Dometic uses carbon bushings to provide superior run-dry protection.

The Magdry Pump comes in 115- and 230-volt configurations, and a range of single- and three-phase models to suit different onboard cooling needs. It is designed for versatile installation and easy integration with Dometic A/C systems, with a rotating pump head, multi-position pump bracket, stainless steel hardware and a full-sized, easy-to-access electric box.

Dometic’s Magdry Pump also features lead-free construction, making it EPA friendly.
