Dometic MDI adds new HTML5 digital switching screens compatible with top MFD brands
Litchfield, IL – October 25, 2021 With new HTML5 screens, Dometic’s Marine Digital Integration (MDI) digital switching technology now works with MFDs from leading manufacturers, putting a wealth of data and total vessel control at the fingertips of boaters.
Dometic Marine has introduced new HTML5 Digital Switching Screens as part of its comprehensive Dometic Marine Digital Integration (MDI) technology. These latest developments and compatibility with top MFD brands were unveiled today at 2021 IBEX (International Boat Builder Exposition & Conference) in Tampa, Florida.
Over the past few years, Dometic Digital Switching has streamlined the boat building industry by providing central control of multiple NMEA 2000 systems and devices, eliminating cumbersome point-to-point wiring and potential connection/rigging issues.
Through MDI, Dometic offers OEM boat builder partners complete electrical system design and development services with a focus on vessel control and advanced battery management using new technologies and digital switching.
Dometic has now made MDI even more powerful, by working with top MFD manufacturers to develop comprehensive digital switching screens using the HTML5 User Interface. Dometic MDI currently supports popular MFDs from Garmin, Simrad and Lowrance, with future compatibility in development for Humminbird, Raymarine and Furuno.
Dometic MDI currently integrates with a range of vessel control components, including Optimus electric steering, jack plates, engine trim and trim tabs, air conditioning and climate control. It also integrates with a range of third-party systems such as Mercury Vessel View, Power Pole shallow water anchor systems, ballast systems and surf and wake devices.
Dometic pages available through the HTML5 User Interface on compatible MFDs enable central control of digital switching, ride adjustment, interior/exterior lights, climate control, water and waste management, and much more.
“This game-changing technology literally puts command of an entire vessel at the owner’s fingertips,” said Eric Fetchko, President of Dometic Marine. “From presetting ride and steering parameters to dimming or changing the color of cabin lights to help set a relaxing mood, the boater can do it all in one place with the touch of his finger. This is the future of boating, and we’re only beginning to discover what's possible. Dometic is committed to finding news ways technology can improve boat building while enhancing the overall boating experience for consumers.”
